![]() ![]() There are eight magical elements that can used to create spells. The opening chapter is your standard training level, and essential because things get complicated fast. ![]() #Magicka 2 spell combos list fullEach level is full to the brim with pop culture references that sadly never seem to shake that ‘trying to hard’ vibe, but still cause the occasional giggle. The plot and writing aren’t going to win any awards, but they’re just here to give a reason for the magic infused carnage to take place. What follows is an adventure spanning nine chapters and varying locales, and countless hordes of enemies to cast down with powerful magick. It’s here that the player comes as one of four wizards tasked with finding and protecting the child. The prophecy states this child will be the saviour of the land of Midgard, and is in grave danger from dark forces who wish to take the land for themselves. The opening cinematic sets the scene and tells of a prophecy a child infused with magical energies that spilled out during the Wizard Wars. That’s the power of a great trailer, because my experience playing was quite different. The trailer pulled me in with its awkward humour, and kept me watching with its show of chaotic and colourful gameplay. #Magicka 2 spell combos list seriesThis game is less about being beaten and more about The Big Funny. It wasn’t until I saw the final trailer for its follow up, Magicka 2, parodying the Game of Thrones title sequence with hilarious results that the now series caught my attention. There isn't much to do solo other than cracking achievements. Take it with a grain of salt, grab a friend for your first playthrough. I imagine a lot of people playing with their friends had someone cast Crash To Desktop endlessly until either their friends or the person casting got removed from reality. This game definitely lends itself to the referential humor, along with the game being clunky and goofy and the entire storyline not taking itself seriously. ![]() Some of the strongest spells are raw elemental power (compared to spells in your spellbook). It was pretty fun to experiment with different combinations of elements, finding out how they interact with each other, finding hazardous combinations, and then finding a way to turn it on your enemies. The campaign is relatively short, so you only get to really explore the system from endlessly replaying the game with your friends. 7/10ĥ0% PCOne of the few games to this day to have a complex spellcasting system. Just well scaled difficulty where you are the problem, not the game. Even tough its an old game, I would still recommend it for its refreshing simplicity: no forced RPG elements, trailing missions or other crap. We could always recover pretty much where we left of, so that did temper the frustration somewhat. I played in coop, which is a fun experience, but we did suffer numerous crashes throughout our playthrough. Altough the line between cringe and humor is thin, it kind-off worked for me, but your mileage may vary. The story is serviceable and stuffed full of jokes that are so lame that it is kind-off funny again. The length of the game is quite ok for the type of game it is, it does not outstay its welcome. It really allows you to get creative and rewards experimenting with different combinations. While this may seem simple and shallow, it is the opposite. This is also basically the only game mechanic throughout the game. You can select up to five of these elements at the time to create a spell (water + cold = ice, etc), so there are thousands of unique combinations of spells you can create. Magicka revolves around combining eight elements in different ways to cast magic. ![]() But it turned out to be quite the little gem. 70% PCI wasn't expecting much of Magicka, as this was a game I got in some humble bundle once, and has been in my steam list for years. ![]()
